How did they settle on Terry Silver’s arc?

Exiting from season three to season four, the biggest change in COpera K was the introduction of Karate Kid Part Three Villain Terry Silver. This was huge for a bunch of reasons (Detailed here), but the show immediately spoils your expectations and shows that silver has changed. In fact, he ended Kreese’s call from last season. So we asked the producers, how did Silver get from there to the end where he frames Kreese to attack Stringray (Paul Walter Hauser) in order to once again take control of the Cobra Kai?

“So we were all huge fans of Terry Silver from the start,” John Horowitz told io9. “We are all aware of our flaws Karate Kid 3 like that. But his character, he had such a presence and it all started with like, “Well, we know his flaws Karate Kid 3 And we know he’s doing some crazy things in this movie. So the first question was, “Well, do I keep going this way?” And how can you continue down this path and like, to be alive, you know? Or are they imprisoned in an insane asylum? So, first, we were like, “Okay, what’s the explanation?” Drugs played a role in it.

“If you watch Karate Kid 3 “And as you think about him about cocaine, it all makes more sense,” Hayden Schlossberg added.

“Exactly,” Horowitz continued. “So it started with sort of looking back at the past and saying, ‘Okay, he’s been off reserve and we want to bring him in and try to root the story. So we’re like, ‘Okay, a guy like him, some things came back to bite him. He was doing rotten things at the time. He had his legal issues and at the end Karate Kid 3 Things didn’t work out with Chris. We’ve proven in our series that Kreese is gone, so his best friend kind of dumped him. So we took him on a ride at the time our show was off to bring him to a place where he’s moved on in life as a rich man. He lives a beautiful, peaceful life, does charitable things and kind of lives it in these ways.”

“But there was something missing in his life, and that’s something Chris immediately sees and is able to slowly lure him and bring that snake in. Once inside, it feels like a drug. He’s back in Cobra Kai. He’s trying to do it the right way. But why does Daniel Larso believe? Why does Daniel believe after the crazy psychopath he was in? Karate Kid 3 That “Oh, he’s coming and he’s apologizing for the past?” Nonsense, if you’re really there. We as listeners see how he’s changed, perhaps, in certain ways, but then Daniel reacts the way he is and Terry Silver is the kind of guy who wouldn’t necessarily calm down with that. It will lead him even further.”

Why did Terry Silver betray Chris in the end?

Hurwitz continues…

“We thought the exploration between these two older men who had shared war experience together and their push and pull with ideologies and how to move forward in this dojo is an interesting dynamic,” Horowitz said. In some ways, Chris is that bully to Silver in some ways. He was his defender and close friend, but he was also a man who was always better than him in some way. And if you push a man far enough, especially one who has taught Cobra Kai his whole life, he’s She gets bitten at the end. And that’s in turn at the end, as if there’s nothing we love more than feeling like Terry Silver can hear our composer’s score sort of dancing in his triumph. One of the favorite things we’ve done on the series has been this season with Terry Silver” .

Hook appears with Ruby.

In the first season, Hawk fought Ruby. In the fourth season, they fought again, but for different teams.

How did they decide who would fight in All Valley and in the end, who would get the awards?

The other big story that carried over from Season 3 was that the Dojos would be fighting in the All Valley Karate Championships. But in order to make this tournament emotionally satisfying, the producers had to be careful to determine who fought who throughout the tournament and then, in the end, who would fight in the finals and who would win. Spoiler alert, Ruby fights Hawk, Hawk gains a victory, then Tori fights Sam, with Tori winning.

“Well, you know, some of it comes from where we’ve been before. Some of it comes from what the audience expects and some of it comes from factors of where we know we’re going.” And all three of those paths really affect how we put this story together. We always want to give the audience what they want, and we always want to give it to them in a way that they don’t expect. So we’re not just trying to say “You want dessert, here’s a piece of fish” because that’s not sexy. But if we can make that candy have flavors you never imagined, that’s a win for us.”

“So, it starts with Tori and Sam,” Heald continued. “This is probably the biggest competition of the season. We’re going into this season with unfinished business. There’s a war that has to happen between these two people to really get over what’s still between them. And for a lot of the other characters, it’s personal journeys. There’s this ‘I hate you because you’ In Cobra Kai, “I hate you for being in Miyagi-do,” I hate you personally for this.

“So when putting the final battles and arcs together, we really wanted to be honest and invest in making those fights different,” he said. “Boys fighting is really this action packed, only, spectacle of these two men at the height of their power. Each of them, for their own reasons, wants to conquer something. But it is not pure hatred from one person to another on the other side of the rug. This is not a rivalry between Ages. This is the current heir to Cobra Kai and the current power of Miyagi Do. With Sam and Tori, it’s really “we should get him out.” This has to happen. One of us has to win. And then in terms of who wins and who loses, these are all factors that determine where we know we’re going from season four to season five and beyond. And making sure we put the stakes in the conflict in the best way possible.”

How the hell did Carrie Underwood appear and why did she sing “Moment of Truth?” Will they play “You’re the Best?”

Cobra Kai It’s now run for four seasons and in those four seasons, which saw two All Valley Championships, the producers hadn’t used it yet the Karate KidThe most famous song, “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito. In fact, in season four, they used another song from the original movie in its place on the starring, “The Moment of Truth” by Survivor, except that it was sung by country star Carrie Underwood. We had to find out why this song was used instead of “You’re the Best” and how Carrie Underwood got involved.

“Obviously we used the song The Moment of Truth and the Carrie Underwood cover the same way we used the song You’re the Best, moving you through the playoffs,” Schlossberg said. And I think the reason we don’t want to do You’re the Best in this context is, would that be better than the original? Like, you’ve already seen that. was not opposing To do the things we’ve seen before, but there’s got to be some twist on it, and there won’t be a twist that’s going to be like, ‘Okay, well, you’re going through it again. And hey, do you remember that song? So if we were using “You’re the Best” it would be in a way that gets you refreshed and is great, but not exactly the same you’ve seen before. But we wanted to do that kind of thing in the tournament and we thought, “Moment of Truth” is a song, if you karate Kid A fan, you know, but he didn’t really like getting involved in pop culture the way “You’re the Best” did. But still, survivor. It contains the rock anthem of the 80s. And so it worked the same way.”

“The bottom line, there’s an example of, ‘Okay, we wanted to give off the same feelings of energy,’ like pushing you through a tournament,” Schlossberg continued. “And with Curry, it was a situation where we already knew we wanted to have that kind of thing in the tournament. We love the idea that the tournament board, the All Valley Tournament Board, is in the same boat that we’re trying to figure out how to make this the biggest tournament ever? And he’s like, “Why don’t you like a surprise celebrity guest or a musical performance?” And that was really something we were thinking about. Then when Netflix aired Cobra KaiShe was a candid person on Twitter about loving Cobra Kai. So we’re like, “Oh my God.” We put two and two together, she sings Sunday Night Football Songs, it kind of makes sense for her to be someone who can sing that, “and it worked out nicely.”

Big thanks to Cobra Kai Content creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald to talk to us again. And we’ll have more Cobra Kai Coming soon, including an interview with Season 4’s most interesting new character, Kenny, played by Dallas Dupree Young.
